Speaker: Rahul Bhardwaj, President & CEO of the Toronto Community Foundation
In his role as the President & CEO of the Toronto Community Foundation, Rahul Bhardwaj has been working to engage philanthropy in Toronto to address challenges facing the city. Formerly a corporate lawyer with a leading Canadian law firm, he was also Vice President of the Toronto 2008 Olympic Bid.
As part of the Mayor’s Blue Ribbon Fiscal review panel in 2008 Rahul, was involved in identifying efficiencies for the City of Toronto. A year later the Province of Ontario appointed him to the Board of Metrolinx, an organization developing and implementing an overall transit strategy for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. More recently, Rahul became Chair of the 2012 Ontario Summer Games Organizing Committee and was appointed to the Board of Directors for Upper Canada College. He is the past Chair of the Toronto Downtown Jazz Festival and his board commitments, past and present, include George Brown College, Community Foundations of Canada, Stratford Festival of Canada and United Way Toronto, among many others.
Rahul’s dedication to our communities led him to be named one of the “Next Generation of Toronto Civic Leaders” by The National Post and his vision for Toronto have made him a popular presenter and speaker, particularly on issues relating to the city, community and leadership as well as Toronto’s Vital Signs®. Rahul has been featured in the local Toronto press, on CBC News Network, and internationally on CNN and China’s National Daily News.

We are pleased to once again welcome back Justin Ralph and David Chodoriwsky, both past recipients of awards from the Kiwanis Music Festival and members of Rubato Casual Opera.
Rubato is an opera co-op, a group of talented young opera singers, dedicated to bringing classical music to new and varied urbanite audiences. Performing out of local bars and pubs, the group brings opera, art song, and music theatre to a casual setting.
Audiences of Rubato hear everything from famous opera arias to Broadway hits and jazz standards. Rubato is also dedicated to marrying a relaxed atmosphere with the fantastic music the artists perform.
